Anywhere, Anytime

On to the second post I have on my to do list! I forgot how easy it is to post from the iPad :)

I swear Tori can sleep anywhere, anytime just like her momma! My mom used to have to wake me up to finish chewing my food because I fell asleep mid-chew. Needless to say I have had to do the same thing to Tori numerous times. I have been fortunate enough to catch some of her sleeping on camera!

Sleeping in her exersaucer.

Sleeping in her high chair during lunch.

Sleeping still in her high chair, not even phased when I took the tray off and wiped off her face.

Sleeping in her jumper.

Seriously, how is this comfortable?

Sleeping again in the high chair!

In the jumper again. This time leaned back.

What can I say the jumper really wears her out!

This just looks like she is blinking but she was sleeping!

I just hope she continues to be a good sleeper! As of Mother's Day she has been sleeping through the night from 10pm or so to 5 or 6! I love it!

Go Cardinals!

Okay, okay I am done slacking. I'm really going to try and keep this updated and I mean it this time! I have pictures ready to go for 7 posts and then I will be caught up, so you can expect to see some posts so I can catch up again!

On April 3rd Tori attended her first Cardinals game, well not including the one she went to when I was pregnant with her. We made the trip to St. Louis with 4 other couples and we had all-inclusive tickets that we had gotten on sale. Our seats were directly behind the right field foul pole. We had a blast and Tori was a perfect angel of course! Oh, and the Cardinals got their first win of the year so we must be good luck! :)

Here are some pictures from the day!

Hanging out watching batting practice before the game!

I love wearing her in a carrier! Makes things so much easier! She loves it too! She is so happy in it!

Happy family before the game!

Playing on the floor in the suite before the game started! Tori loves her Cardinal jersey from Aunt Brittany! We got so many compliments on it!

Showing off how her jersey says Burks.

Happy girl!

Napping on daddy during part of the game! I love this picture!

Family picture!

About the time we went to the game, Tori started standing and pulling herself up on toys and furniture.

Ya Burks!

Looking onrey!

The day after we went to St. Louis, Tori had her 9 month check-up at the doctors office. She weighed 16.5lbs which put her in the 10 percentile (the highest she has ever been) and was 27 inches long. The doctor said she was as healthy as can be! We don't have to go back to the doctor until her well baby check-up at a year! No weight checks in between! Wahoo!

Thanks for checking in!

Swimming Round 2

Devin wasn't with us the first time Tori went swimming, so when the opportunity came up for us to take her again, I jumped at the chance so he could see her. One Friday night we drove over to Bloomington and had pizza and beer with my mom who was staying over there for a quilt show. There was a pool at her hotel so we took Tori swimming. Unfortunately, she wasn't as enthused this about about swimming as she was the first time, but she still didn't scream or fuss. I just suspect she was hungry!

Happy with daddy before getting in the pool! How cute is her coverup?

Not too sure!

Tired girl!

All better!

Such a serious face!

Daddy, I am ready to get out!

Nevermind, I will kick the water for a bit!

All in all, I wish Tori would have been more excited to swim that day, but even though she was so somber she did a good job!

I still have 2 or 3 more posts to do, but I think they may have to wait for another day! I wouldn't want to spoil you all!

I hope you enjoy all the posts from today! It feels good to be getting caught up!

Thanks for checking in!

9 months

March 29th, Tori turned 9 months old! To celebrate, as we always do (except for her 8 month birthday, man I am a bad mom) we had a little photoshoot! At her 9 month appointment which was April 4th Tori weighed 16lb 4oz and was 28 inches long. I don't remember her head size other than it was in the 50th percentile. She was also in the 50th percentile for length and was up to the 10th percentile for weight! Woooo! It is is the highest she has ever been as for as percentiles for weight! The doctor says she looks perfect.

Oh and before I forget to mention it Tori cut her first tooth the day before the fundraiser! We were all standing in Karen's kitchen getting ready to head to the Forman Center to set up and Kim noticed it! She now has two little teeth!

Speaking of the fundraiser, the weekend after it we went up and visited Eric, Rachel, and Sofia in their new house! It was their second weekend back in Illinois! The bad news is this is the only picture I took! Tori loved Sofia's jumperoo! While we were up there we went to Shedd Aquarium, Woodfield Mall and hung out with some friends from college. Next time, I promise to take more pictures!

Oh those eyes! They are gunna stay blue I think (as does the doctor). She said that they can change up to a year old, but she thinks Tori's are so blue they will stay that way. It just shows how far the gene can go back. The only people we can think of in the family with blue eyes are the Rankin girls (Devin's cousins) and their mom Ruth, had blue eyes Stacy said. Thanks girls!

About the time Tori turned 9 months old she started saying "Oooooo" Devin managed to get her mid sentence.

No more pictures please!

She is such a happy girl!

9 months old! Can you believe it?

It gets more difficult to take these pictures every month!

Loves to be tickled!

We did celebrate her 9 month birthday by ditching the rubber ducky tub and letting her bathe in the big girl tub. However, she was too slippery and hit her head and went under water a few times, so we have since returned to the rubber ducky tub! Also in this picture she is mid "Ooooo" again.

Looks like trouble!

Woooo! Three posts in one day! I bet you all feel special! I wonder if I can squeeze another one in before bed!

Thanks for checking in!

Chicago Visit

In January we learned that Eric, Rachel, and Sofia were moving back to Illinois! We could not have been more ecstatic! So, Eric called mom one day in February and said they were flying into Chicago to look at houses and for him to have a second interview with a company. He asked her if she wanted to drive up and see them, and I tagged along. We decided on a Sunday morning that we were going so Devin and I went to lunch at Grandma Burks' and then headed home to pack Tori and I up. Man, there is alot to take when you have a baby! Anyways, mom and I loved seeing them and I think they enjoyed seeing us too! We had fun and even squeezed in a little shopping! At the time of the visit Tori was almost 8 months old and Sofia was almost 6 months. Here are some pictures!

Grandmama with her two babies!

Holding hands...ya right.

This is more like it....

They both look so ornery in this one! I think we need to watch out for them!

I had completely forgotten that the hotel would have a pool! Eric and Rach thought ahead and brought swimming stuff. I didn't so therefore we went shopping! haha! Tori looooooved the water!

Sofia didn't like it.

Tori kicking around! We are hoping to get her in swim lessons soon!

Taking a break and chilling with momma!

Rachel thought maybe if she got in with Sofia maybe she would like it...nope!

Sorry Rachel, but I like this picture! They were trying to calm poor Sofia down!

All done swimming! Loooooooooove this picture!

Big happy girls!

More posts to come soon! Thanks for checking in!

Happy Valentine's Day (A few months late)...

I am going to attempt to update alot in the next few days with small posts to catch up to where we are now! I can't believe I was slacking for so long on updating! Sooooo...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY...

On Valentine's Day, Tori and I didn't do a whole lot as I am not a fan of the holiday. We went to breastfeeding group and then to the grocery store.

Snoozing away in her carseat after the grocery store!

Tori got her daddy's sweat gene! She sweats a ridiculous amount!

Happy girl!
