Splish Splash...

For some reason or another recently we have taken alot of pictures of Tori during bath time. I am guessing it is because we started bathing her in the big bath tub and both of us feel like we have to be in there, but it only takes one person so the other one grabs the camera! Who knows? Anyway enjoy!

Mohawk!

When we first started putting her in the big bath tub we used her Bumbo. She is just chilling in this picture.

Rubber duckies are awesome at helping rinse out shampoo!

Then while watching TV I saw this rubber ducky inflatable tub and I am sooooo glad we did. The Bumbo was easy but you constantly had to have a hand on Tori because she slid all over the tub in it. Now she can't go anywhere. She will occasionally slide down but that is it. If she gets tired of sitting up she just rests against the side for a bit!

So happy to have a new tub!

Gotta love hooded towels!

Seriously, have you ever seen a cuter Cookie Monster?

Tori was weighed at breastfeeding group on Monday. She weighs 12lb 13.8oz. We have come to the conclusion that she is just a small baby. I was curious to see if solids would boost up her weight but they haven't, so we are just chalking it up to having a fast metabolism. Must be nice! She goes for a weight check at the doctor on February 10th.

Oh the newest thing that she is doing is yesterday she figured out she can jump in her jumperoo! It is hilarious to watch. I will try to get a video for my next post. By the way, I've posted every week in January! Go me!

Halfway to a Year!

Tori is 6 months old! Wahoo! Well she's almost 7 months now but this post is all about her turning 6 months. I'm just a few weeks behind! :)

Anyways she turned 6 months old on December 29th. She spent the day being incredibly sick, as did I. We both had a horrible cold for about 10 days right after Christmas. Having a sick baby is quite possibly the worst thing in the world. There is nothing you can do for them! Tori had her 6 month check up on the 30th. She was 24.75 inches long and weighed 12lb 7oz. Still a tiny little girl for her age. The doctor congratulated me on sticking with breastfeeding even with all of Tori's weight issues and she said Tori was one of the strongest, healthiest 6 month olds she had seen in a while which is always nice to hear! We talked about solids and we were going to start them on the 31st but Tori and I were both too sick to mess with it. I was kind of bummed about it, but knew it was best to start solids when Tori was feeling better and when I felt like making the food.

So, we started solids the following Monday, January 3rd. Tori's first food was sweet potatoes which she LOVES! We are making all of her babyfood! It is super easy and is saving us quite a bit of money. After the sweet potatoes we did avacado, then homemade rice cereal, bananas, and pears. So far she has liked everything except the cereal, but we are going to try that again soon. Her favorite is either sweet potatoes or pears. Starting solids should help with her weight a little bit. After a week of being on them I had the opportunity to weigh her at group and she weighed 12lb 12oz! She will be weighed this coming Monday too so I am anxious to see!

Oh and Tori's teeth are starting to come in! On December 19th we noticed a white spot on the top left part of her gums. Here we are nearly a month later and it still hasn't come in, but its working its way down. She has really been gnawing on things, so I think some others are close. The doctor said her gums felt pretty hard and predicted that once her teeth start popping through that shes going to get alot all at once.

Tori has also been sitting up on her own. This just happened all the sudden one day. I put her on the bed while I was getting ready in the morning and when I looked back she was still sitting and ever since then she will sit for extended periods of time. It was right after her 6 month checkup because I remember the doctor asking if she was sitting unsupported and I said no, but when the doctor put her in a sitting position she didn't topple over! The little stinker!

Well, enough rambling, here are some pictures!

This was her first bite ever. It is as if shes saying "Daddy what is mommy shoving in my mouth?"

Yummy!
You can tell her hand is all messy too. If you don't feed her fast enough she helps by grabbing the spoon and jamming it into her mouth. If she can't reach the spoon she settles for grunting and kicking her feet.

This was her first time eating in public and sitting in a highchair while we were out to eat. Also she is doing the whole spoon grabbing thing here...guess I was too slow!

This was technically a few days after she turned 6 months since she was sick on her actual 6 month birthday. Such a happy face!

Holding the sign. The older she gets the squirmier she gets and in turn the harder these pictures are to take!

She was really happy this night, so we took lots of pictures! This is probably my favorite from the night!

Showing off her sitting skills after we did the 6 month pictures!
She loves this little baseball toy. The second she sees it her eyes light up and she rolls to wherever it is!
Trying to chew on the bat for the toy...I guess we have some work to do to get her to play ball.

I am proud of myself...it has been three weeks and I have managed to stick with my goal of posting once a week! I am three for three! Wahoo!

Thanks for checking in!

Lost Pictures

I found some more pictures from our trip to Texas on a different camera so I thought I would share them with you all!

Squirming around on the floor before our flight to DFW. Since we had the early morning flight I took her to the airport in her PJ's hoping she would just sleep, ha fat chance, but she was awesome!

Dark picture on the plane.

About to break her neck on the plane looking around at things.

One day at the mall I knew I was going to be trying clothes on so using the carrier would be a pain and I felt bad having Tori spend so much time in her carseat we thought we would just let her ride in the stroller. So, here is Uncle Eric and daddy trying to adjust the stroller. Sadly, she was too small! She looked so cute though!

Mommy and Tori waiting in line for Santa.

Devin had started his new job about a week before our trip, so he spent quite a bit of time on his phone talking the the girl that took over through things or texting/emailing with her. He even had to get up at 7 one day to do some work.

Family picture while waiting for Santa...apparently Tori doesn't know that she is supposed to smile!

Grandma with her girls again and Sofia with her tongue out.

Finally made it to Santa! Tori was all smiles and Sofia had been woken up, poor girl, but they both did great. This Santa was pretty cool, minus his fake, "I practice smiling in the mirror smile". At one point a family was taking forever to pick out their picture so he played the guitar to entertain everyone in line.

Daddy and Tori took some pictures of some things in Eric and Rachel's house that we like and they also took a picture of themselves. And no she doesn't have on a cape, her bib is just on backwards!

A few other things that I haven't mentioned. We went to group yesterday and Tori weighs 12lbs 12oz now. Still small for her age, but healthy and growing! She has started solids (pictures to come) and we noticed a little tooth (a top pointy one) trying to make its appearance on December 18 and its still not in all the way. Making progress but I am ready for it to be in! Tori is chewing on anything and everything she can get her hands on. She is also sitting on her own! If she is entertained she will sit forever, without entertainment she will sit for a minute or two before getting herself on her belly to roll away! I think sometimes she does quits sitting on purpose because she sees something that she wants! She is a rolling machine!

Okay, I think that does it! Thanks for checking in!

New Year...New Goals

Sorry again that it has taken me so long to update this! For the new year I am going to try my hardest to blog once a week! That is my goal on the condition that people read and comment! Now, lets do it together! I am going to try and blog about stuff I don't put on facebook so maybe people will stay more interested, or at least that is my hope we shall see.

So, since I haven't blogged in a while I have some catching up to do so these first few weeks of blogging weekly should be pretty easy!

This update is about our trip to Texas. We went down in the beginning of December to visit my brother, Eric, sister-in-law, Rachel and niece, Sofia. Tori and I went down on a Monday with my mom and Devin joined us that Wednesday. Devin will tell you that all we did while we were there was shop and eat and repeat. I can't say that is far from the truth! I loved it! They have such great baby stores down there! We brought back a large suitcase and a small suitcase full of clothes and had to ship a box of toys back! Tori got a whole new wardrobe and loves it! Here are some pictures from our trip. I didn't take nearly as many as I should have!

Uncle Eric and Auntie Rachel got Tori this little chair for Christmas. It has her name on it! It is so perfect for her to watch all of daddy's softball games from!

Aren't I cute in my new hat?

Hanging with daddy waiting to open presents!

My mom with her two grandbabies!

The girls wiggling around. Sofia on the left at about 3.5 months and Tori on the right at about 5.5 months.

Tried to get them close together for a picture...

Butttttttt Tori rolled right away!

Trying to get a picture for the Christmas cards!

Thanks for checking in!
