Pictures galore

I had to take a break from updating for a week. The four updates in a week was a bit much. Since I haven't updated in a while there are alot of pictures!

Tori had her two month check up last Monday the 30th. She weighed 10 pounds 9 ounces and was 22.5 inches long. The doctor said she looks good and is strong for her age! We asked about the red spot on here eye and were told that it is a birthmark that will more than likely continue to grow and won't be completely gone until she is 9 or 10 so that blows. If it gets too big or puts pressure on her eye then we will look into getting it removed.

I went to the doctor on Tuesday the 31st and was put on a medicine to try and get more milk. So far I have not seen an increase. She tested my thyroid again and it was so bad that it couldn't be read. The amount of hormone I had was off the chart. It was recommended that I see an endocrinologist so I have an appointment on the 27th. I'm glad I will finally get it all straightened out since I have been dealing with it since I was 17.

Oh and Tori is rolling over from tummy to back! I tried to catch it on camera but failed. In fact she wouldn't roll over when I was looking. I was cleaning and she would be on her tummy then I would turn my back and shed be on her back! She is smiling, giggling, and making happy noises more and more! We love it!

Tori got her shots yesterday and when we got home after I fed her I put her in her swing hoping that she would sleep for a few hours, but of course that didn't happen. She discovered the mirror in the mobile above her swing. Kept her entertained for about 45 minutes.

She was making all sorts of faces and laughing like crazy!

Okay, she may have entertained me for a bit too! It is so fun to see her interacting more and more every day!

This morning I met Linda, my moms business partner, and one of her daughters Whitney at Starbucks so Whitney could meet Tori. Whitney is currently living in London. She is one of those people that you can go years without talking to and then pick up right where you left off when you see her next. We were best friends growing up and are still connected in many ways. Linda was (and still is) my second mom and I know when (notice I said not if but when) Whitney moves back to the states I know she will be there for Tori like Linda has been for me!

Whitney and Tori loved each other. I was so happy Tori was awake and happy!

Linda is also in love and wants me to come back to work ASAP. Shes offering to set up a pack n play in the office so Tori can go too. I'm not sure how much work the staff or the bosses would get done with Tori there.

As many of you know we spend our Labor Day weekend playing in the MDA ball-a-thon which is a 72 hour softball tournament at the park. Games are played at all hours of the day.

HOMERUN! Wooo! Inside the park no less! He really had to book it around the bases!

One of the mens teams that Devin organized took first place in the highest division! He was/is so excited! It is pretty cool! They played great!

Devin thought that Tori needed to pose with the trophies from the weekend. One is from the mens team mentioned above and other is for the consolation bracket championship in the top co-ed division. It was a good weekend!

I can't forget Mocha. Devin took her baseball toy away from her because it plays some annoying music. She found it in no time (on the boppy) and wanted it so bad but didn't take it.

Since the Cardinals won tonight and play the Cubs soon I thought I had better post this picture! Isn't she adorable! I love her! This was also the first time she wore jeans! Ignore the hand in her mouth. She loves to chew on them and I hate it. The nurses always said that its a sign of hunger, but she won't take the boob, bottle, or pacifier she just wants to gnaw on her hands. Looks like we will be the parents of the kid with grubby hands! I hope she grows out of the hand gnawing stage soon!

2 Months Old

Tori is 2 months old today! Seems like just yesterday that she was born. She has her two month checkup tomorrow. CAT insurance doesn't cover her shots, but we have heard that there is a federal program that can cover them. We will find out at her appointment tomorrow. If she doesn't get them tomorrow she has to go to the health department to get them.

Yesterday Mike and Stacy came over and babysat so we could escape without Tori. It was nice to get out and not have to worry. We just did some shopping and dinner. Thank you Mike and Stacy! When we were out we got her a Bumbo. She can sit in it when she can hold her head up on her own which she can do but it's just for a few minutes. When we got home we let her sit in it for a few until she got tired of holding her head up.

We hope to take pictures of her monthly with the dry erase board that way we can see her progress. I am in love with the last picture!

Some of you already know but my niece Sofia is in the hospital. She had to be transferred to a children's hospital yesterday because her pulse ox levels were low. They've ran a battery of tests and have come to the conclusion that nothing is wrong, it is just taking Sofia a little longer to adjust to breathing outside of the womb. They have her on a little supplemental oxygen through her nose, but they keep decreasing the amount because Sofia keeps getting better. We all hope she gets to go home soon! I am happy that the moms are down there to help around the house and cook for Eric and Rachel. Rachel's recovery is going great. She was released less than 24 hours after Sofia was born so that she could go be with her. Rachel is so strong I don't know how she does it!

Introducing Sofia Ann Myers...

We are ecstatic to announce that we are an aunt and uncle and Tori has a cousin! Eric and Rachel welcomed Sofia Ann Myers into the world at 4:46 p.m. today. Sofia weights 7lbs 3oz and is 21.5 inches long. She has a ton of dark hair, so it is clearly Eric's baby. Rachel started having contractions on Wednesday, that just got more consistent all day Thursday. We got word at 3 a.m. today (Friday) that they were headed to the hospital. Rachel is such a strong woman for enduring contractions for that long! I heard that she did amazing and worked through all the contractions on her own. My mom is down there and said it is nice to have Rachel talking again because she didn't talk through her contractions. Mom and baby are both doing amazing. Here are some pictures of our new little niece!

This is fun...

I can't believe that Tori is 8 weeks old! We loooooooove being parents! Each day is more fun than the previous one.

Tori is doing amazing! As of Monday she weighed 10 pounds 5 ounces. She is awake alot more and making funny faces. It is so fun to just sit and watch her and talk to her. She seems to be a laid back baby which we appreciate. She only gets pissed when I don't have any milk for her which hopefully won't be a problem after next Tuesday when I go to the doctor. With the help of Beth, the lactation consultant at Pekin hospital, I have come to accept the fact that I need medical help to have the amount of milk Tori needs. I am praying that after I get on medicine that I will only have to pump when I am not with Tori. I am currently pumping 8-12 times a day. Our routine is nurse Tori, give her a bottle of breast milk, then pump. From start to finish it takes about an hour and twenty minutes and she wants to eat every two hours! So I pretty much have NO life. If she's all on the breast it would be so much easier to do things and ideally go back to work part time.

Tori now loves her swing, bouncy chair, boppy, and crib but hates the pack n play which is weird. She loves going places and just looks around taking everything in. I just can't believe how big she's gotten. Monday I saw a baby that was 5 days old and it's weird to think she was that small 7 weeks ago.

When I get up in the middle of the night this is how Mocha is sleeping in her kennel. It cracks me up!

Tori celebrated turning 8 weeks by sleeping through the night! She slept for 7 hours straight. This is her in her crib.

Be sure to check back soon! I am going to be an aunt in 5 days or less. Rachel is scheduled to be induced on Tuesday if Sofia hasn't arrived before then. Her actual due date is Saturday, so we are all hoping Sofia decides to make her appearance early. I am so excited for Eric and Rachel to be parents. They are going to do great and have so much fun! I can not wait to go to Texas. If I get my whole milk thing figured out I hope to go down soon! They are planning a tirp up here in October, but that seems so far away to me! Anyways, as soon as I get pictures of Sofia I will post!
